This development of 24 new apartments including a stunning penthouse sits adjacent to the Sovereign Harbour Yacht Club overlooking Eastbourne Marina. Now a familiar Landmark as you enter Sovereign Harbour North the Yacht club was the first of a two phase design plan by MLRS Architects & Freshfield Contracting which providing valuable luxury residential facilities to the surrounding area.
Extensive ground works were carried out to provide an underground, secure car park on top of which sits the podium deck from which the main part of the building rises. The PolySteel forms featuring a central core of 200mm allowing easy access for the placement of reinforcement have been used in these areas allowing work to continue quickly and quietly and have linked extremely well with the concrete columns already poured. 200mm forms were used for all the external walls with 150mm core forms providing excellent soundproofing and insulation through the party walls. At 7 storeys this is now the tallest ICF structure ever built in the UK to date.
