The Creo System - quick easy energy saving
CREO's innovative complete building system consists of 3 elements. wall, floor and roof panels constructed from extremely strong Neopor (Expanded Polystyrene (EPS)),
The Walls
- The walls can be constructed using 6 different types of blocks (wall, end wall, corner, angle, lintel and beam) and four different wall thicknesses. The blocks lock together without any form of glue or adhesive and are then filled with sustainable concrete to form a wall with a thickness of between 25 - 40 cm. Up to 5 floors may be built using any width of wall block.
The Floors - These are constructed using special Creo concrete beams and EPS flooring blocks. Used in conjunction with the beam block a prefectly insulated floor can be achieved. Depending on the thickness of the floor a loading of 250-425 kg/m2 can be achieved.
The Roof - The CREO roofing panels are 15cm. thick and can be screwed directly to the rafters. There is no need for a separate batten, felt or insulation. The system i s suitable for roof pitches from 22-45 degrees. The whole roofing process takes hours not days.
1. A general feeling of well being - The Creo system perfectly insulates the living area making the internal temperature stable and does not vary between the centre of the room and those areas close to the walls. There is no tendency as with traditional construction for the walls to draw out the heat. The ability of the walls to breath naturally ensures that the humidity remains consistent and does not increase.
2. Warm in winter cool in summer - Traditional construction methods allow the walls to transmit the cold into the living areas in winter. In summer a traditional single skin insulated wall can reach 70°C. The CREO EPS wall insulation ensures that in summer a maximum internal temperature increase of 2°C or less.
3. Low building and maintenance costs - The CREO house is quick, easy and cheap to build. The lego type construction does not require skilled tradesmen. There is no need for separate insulation and due to the thermal efficiency low temperature heat pumps with effeciancies up to 600% can be used. The avereage energy savigs compared to a trditional house are in the region of between 70-90%.
4. Quick and easy construction - The logo type constrution blocks simply click together without the use of adhesive or bonding agents providing a precise and accurate recepticle into which sustainable concrete can easily be poured. On average each floor takes only 1 or 2 days to complete. The routes for the service pipes and cables can easily be cut using a hot knife. The working areas remain clean and the work can be undertaken in a noise and rubbish free environment.
5. Healthy safe and environmentally friendly - EPS is completely inert and does not harm the body in any way. It is hardly surprising that it is used to package many different types of food stuffs. The stable temperature within the CREO house inhibits condensation and the growth of mould. This is particularly important in reducing allergic reactions. It is a fact of life that 1 in 3 of us exhibit allergic tendencies. The excellent thermal qualities of the CREO house mean less fuel consumption and fewer emmissions.
6. Longevity - Laboratory tests simulating 100 years in the open have shown no tendency for EPS to degrade. The same cannot be said for traditional materials. Concrete in particular will crack if ex
posed to the elements and range of temperture differentials. This allows water ingress and an even quicker rate of deterioration. The CREO EPS system protects the internal concrete from both water penetration and fluctuations in temperature.
